Sixth visit in six years. You go to CSM for the beautiful beach, crystal clear water, peace and quiet, lack of tourists. What you don’t go there for is smiling faces from the staff, warm welcomes, friendly management, amazing dining service because it’s nowhere to be found.

I’ve been to many islands in the Atlantic and Pacific. This is my favorite place in the world!🌎 I plan on returning again and again. I’ve already been here twice in 8 months and will return in 4 months. It’s a resort that has it all without being “touristy” or over the top. The management is responsive to suggestions and very accommodating. The staff are like family. I look forward to see them again. The setting is a beach that rivals Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos, without scads of tourists and Ritz-like hotels. There is no commotion, just peace and quiet. There are plenty of places to sit in the shade; pick any gazebo or ask for an umbrella and chair to be placed where you want. Kayaks and bikes are available and the food and drinks are wonderful, with a great variety of choices for those staying longer. The free happy hour conch fritters are the best I’ve ever tasted. The rooms are beautiful and appointed tastefully. Linens are great, bed is great. Having a big screened-in porch in all bungalows is the biggest plus. Obviously, I love Cape Santa Maria Resort! 🩵

The resort is stunning, with a beautiful beach and some of the best sand in the Caribbean. The staff are warm, friendly, and helpful, and the villas are clean, well-equipped, and right on the beach.

The Cape Santa Maria resort is wonderful. I’ve never been to such a beautiful place with so few people. A long white beach, turquoise-clear water, and beautiful, spacious bungalows. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Lars, in particular, is a great host. Going on an excursion with him is definitely worth it — he shares his knowledge and takes you to other untouched places. Kayaks, SUPs, and snorkeling gear are available free of charge. The food is excellent. Our stay here was simply perfect. Highly recommended, especially if you're looking to slow down.

Beautiful beach! Good food, friendly staff went the extra mile to make our stay great with food, booking tours, car rental, etc. We stayed in 2 story building which was well appointed and clean. Would go back without hesitation.

As someone who was engaged and married at CSM, in addition to making this place my special haven with my husband since 2017, I’ve hesitated to write this for a while now. However, it’s much needed and supports the other frustrated reviews across TA, Google, Facebook, etc. First, the staff has been blatantly unhappier as the years go by, and they are not afraid to talk about it. It all escalated with multiple staff strikes since Matt Brear left the GM position. We have made some amazing friends through the staff, and it’s sad to see them upset and angry with how they have been treated. Yes, there are two sides to every story, but we saw years of positivity, or what appeared to be positivity, when Matt was here. Issues always exist when it comes to operations (as someone who works in corporate healthcare operations), but I was shocked to hear how many staff members told me they miss Matt plus the false accusations current management puts on them. I’m talking about staff members who have been at the Cape for many years and who had tears in their eyes talking about the disrespect. Additionally, Kelly, Pinky, Jasmine, Nadia, Brevonne, and entire front desk staff (especially Stephanie!) have managed this place well for many years. I have lost count of the number of guests, including some very prominent and high net worth guests, who have specifically asked for this crew when walking in Beach House doors while I was sitting at the bar. I personally asked for Kelly to bartend my wedding at CSM because no other bartender’s service has compared to his and few have lasted in the bar like him. If certain people are not working, we usually order drinks and food to-go or dine elsewhere on island as the atmosphere isn’t the same. During this last visit, we hardly saw Kelly and Pinky then heard they put in two weeks’ notice. I do not even know how to respond to that except we already decided to take a break from the Cape for now. If those two aren’t around, management will hear about it from repeat guests and learn that those two are the backbone of the Beach House; a huge reason why guests return! Second, few improvements have been made to the resort over the years for the same price. The new wicker chairs in the bar area is all I’ve noticed for a major improvement. The plastic chairs in the cabanas are near end-of-life and some have 3-4 inch wide exposed cushion stuffing busting out of the seams. I sat in one plastic chair, and the middle of it completely cracked open (and I’m a size 8!). Please add some sturdy faux wicker lay out chairs with cushions and end tables in the cabanas AND on the beach. People pay a premium with both their time and money to visit the Cape, so make it look the price tag! We noticed several villas had broken blinds walking along the boardwalk. One of our kitchen blinds was broken and had to stay lifted halfway up the window 24/7; we were told guys would fix it the next day, but they didn’t, then we left it because we didn’t w

You won't be disappointed here. Considering its location, the resort offers everything you would need. The cottages could use some updating, but they are comfortable and clean. The resort staff was friendly and accommodating (memory foam or pillowtop mattress would have made it perfect)—especially the bartender, Kelly, and staff at the restaurant. The property is amazing, and the beach is among the most beautiful in the Bahamas. The restaurant has a good selection of options, and everything was tasty. Be sure to try the fresh grouper, it was excellent. There are no TVs in the rooms. I believe this is intentional. Honestly, you don't even notice it is a perfect place to disconnect from the outside world and enjoy the island life. Internet on the grounds was great as well, no issues with getting wifi in the room or on the property.
